What children learn

The foundations for a successful kindergarten year.

Concepts are introduced gently, in small groups, through play the children actually enjoy.

Letters & phonics

Recognising letters, matching sounds and building the earliest reading skills.

Numbers & counting

Counting, sorting, patterns and the number sense kindergarten expects.

Colours, shapes & art

Naming, sorting and creating — painting, clay, handicrafts and collage.

Spatial concepts

Over, under, beside, behind — the vocabulary of maths and movement.

Social skills

Sharing, taking turns, listening and being part of a group.

Music & movement

Singing, rhythm patterns, dancing and sound discrimination.

Good to know

Enrolment requirements & the school year.

  • Age cut-off is September 1st. Children in the two-day class turn three by September 1st; children in the three-day class turn four by September 1st.
  • Toilet training is required. State licensing requires that all children must be toilet-trained before starting.
  • Classes meet September through mid-May. Days off and school breaks are based on the North Olmsted City School calendar.
  • Curb-side drop-off and pick-up. Mornings stay calm and quick, even in an Ohio January.
  • Open to everyone. We welcome children regardless of race, gender, national and ethnic origin, and are non-discriminatory in all our policies.

Still deciding?

The best way to choose a preschool is to stand in one.

Book a personal tour with our director and observe a class in session. You’ll see how the children share, self-direct and learn at their own pace — and you’ll know.

Come experience why our children are HAPPY to learn.

Tours are personal, unhurried and led by our director. Most families know within ten minutes.
