Dynamic, Passionate Director Wanted

John Knox Preschool is looking for a part-time director for the preschool. The preschool is located at John Knox Presbyterian Church in North Olmsted. We are a part-time preschool that provides education for children ages 3-5 years old residing in the community and surrounding communities. The school calendar is based on the North Olmsted City School calendar and we are in attendance September through mid-May. The preschool has been in existence since 1967.

Definition of Position:

The Director will be responsible for the overall Preschool program and administrative duties year-round as they pertain to the successful operation of the Preschool. This includes, but is not limited to, curriculum, supervision of staff and children and communication with parents. The Director will come under the direction of the John Knox Preschool Board and follow the rules and regulations for licensing under the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. The director will also need to be able to work in the classroom with staff and children if and when needed and in the capacity needed.

Days and hours during the school year are M-W 8:30-1:00 and Th-F 8:30-12. Days and hours during breaks and summer are flexible and can be determined by the Director. Summer duties include checking mail, answering/returning phone messages, scheduling tours with potential families, preparing enrollment packs, arranging for classroom cleaning and any other duties that are needed before school begins in September. School days and hours can change from year to year depending on enrollment.

Requirements:

Clean BCI/FBI background check
AND
At least 2 years experience AND CDA credential AND a CPL Level II
OR
A current “Ohio Administrator Credential” as approved by ODJFS
OR
Other Education and Experience qualifications based on ODJFS Administrator Qualifications

The following are required but may be obtained, based on ODJFS timeline, once hired if not currently held:

CPR certified
First Aide certified
Child-Abuse training
Communicable Disease training
Child care orientation
OPR (Ohio Professional Registry)
Rules Review course
